Akanksha Sen is working as an Associate leading Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning efforts for the Agricultural solutions designed by Wadhwani Institute for Artificial Intelligence. She holds a Bachelor of Science (Hons.) in Economics from the University of Calcutta and a Master of Arts in Development Studies from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences where she was awarded the Institute Silver Medal for Academic Excellence. She also holds a Post-Graduate Diploma in Data Science from IIIT Bangalore. She has prior experience of 2+ years working on large scale Randomised Controlled Trials (RCTs). She is interested in social impact research methods, poverty alleviation & measurement, agricultural and public health challenges. She has also worked on the State Multidimensional Poverty Index (MPI) with the Department of Planning, Government of Andhra Pradesh, India as well as with the Poverty Probability Index® (PPI®) at Innovations for Poverty Action as an intern. She enjoys working with numbers, has worked with Big Data analysis to identify causalities of poverty and is proficient with STATA and Python. In her spare time she loves to read, propagate plants and playing the ukulele.
